Product safety information

Cornerwise is a vehicle emergency escape tool designed to break tempered automotive side glass and to cut seatbelt webbing. Please read the following before you buy and before you use it.

  • Tempered glass only. The tool does not break laminated glass, which many vehicles now use for the windscreen and, increasingly, for the front side windows. Laminated panes are normally marked on the glass itself. Check your own vehicle and know which of your windows are tempered.
  • Aim for a corner. Tempered side glass gives way most readily at a corner of the pane.
  • Not a substitute for professional rescue. The tool is not rescue equipment and does not replace the fire service, emergency medical services or law enforcement. Call 911 first whenever it is possible to do so.
  • Not a substitute for a seatbelt or for safe driving.
  • Contains a recessed blade. Keep out of reach of small children.
  • Not a weapon. The product is not designed, marketed or sold as a weapon and must not be used as one. You are responsible for complying with any law that applies where you live to carrying tools of this kind.
  • No guarantee of outcome. Emergencies are unpredictable. We make no claim that this or any product will prevent injury or death, or that it will work on every vehicle in every circumstance.
